Product: Ginding Ball

Other Grinding Media

Our expertise extends to the field of grinding as a whole. This also includes technologies such as grinding rods, cylpebs and ceramic balls.

Tailored Solution

The following grinding media are less often used in ore grinding processes in the mining industry. However, we can help you in providing this material and improving the practices related to this material.

For Any Request, Contact Us:

Depending on the grinding media used, the type of crusher and the characteristics of the ore, we can help you with our expertise services for forged and casted ball grinding as well as our simulation and audit services.

Cylpebs

The Cylpebs theoretically have an interest compared to the grinding ball because they offer a larger contact surface for an identical volume to that of a sphere and therefore more contact than the sphere as well as a better apparent density.

Despite this theory, it has never been proven with certainty. The difficulty of comparison is due to the difference in shape. The two grinding media have different specific surface area, bulk density and contact mechanisms in the grinding action. thus creating more energy and generating a higher output for your mill.

Ceramic

Ceramic grinding balls offer superior properties such as high-temperature resistance, abrasion resistance, and low density compare to steel ball. These are used in a wide range of industries such as automotive, aerospace and chemical.

In the mining industry, they are often used in re-grind or fine-grind after the ball mil in order to have the smallest possible PSD. It helps a lot to increase recovery and reduce the consumption of certain reagents.

Grinding Rods

Rod mills are used in an open circuit between crushing and the ball mill. They often operate in wet and where the pulp contains up to 50% solid by mass. This machine is equally very applicable to dry where it could take a feed that has achieved 6% moisture.

Hardness: 45 - 55 HRC

Thanks to a selected chemical composition and a suitable heat treatment, our grinding rods have a reduced wear rate of 40% compared to unheated hot-rolled bars or green bars.

Packaging solutions

Drums

Drums offer a robust and reliable solution for long distance transport in addition to better storage when several months of stock on site is required.

Bags

We can deliver UV resistant polypropylene bags with packaging at no additional cost. It is possible to deliver in a 1 ton or 2 ton bag.

Bulk

Bulk solution is possible with open-top trucks and presents an economic and logistic advantage when the on-site storage is suitable.
